Luca Resta (Italy, 1982) lives and works in Paris.
His research question the concept of “repetition”. Understood as a phenomenon characterize our society, he questions its ontological value, and the relation it drew with contemporary dynamics.
After an artistic bachelor, in 2008, he obtained M.A. in the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo (Italy). He then continued his artistic career and research through workshops and several residences, such as the Spinola Banna Foundation for the Arts in Turin, Viafarini in Residence in Milan and Astérides in Marseille.
Over the years, he participated in several national and international group exhibitions, among which: Sound Fetish (51° Venice Biennal, 2005), Inaugural Exhibit (Art Raw Gallery, New York – 2009), Quali cose siamo (Triennale Design Museum, Milan – 2010), Il raccolto d’autunno continua ad essere abbondante (DOCVA, Milan – 2011), State of the Arts (54° Venice Biennal – 2011), All in good time (BACO, Bergamo – 2013), Calcio d’inizio (Re Rebaudengo Foundation, Turin – 2014), Common-Place (Galerie Rajatila, Tampere – 2015), DAMA (Turin – 2016), Metamorphosis (Galerie Italienne, Paris – 2016), Babel (Contemporary Locus, Bergamo – 2016), Brave New Word (K-Gold Temporary Gallery, Agia Paraskevi – 2016), Talent Prize (Macro, Roma – 2017), Do Disturb #4 (Palais de Tokyo, Paris – 2018).
