Galleria Il Ponte completes the exhibition season by hosting six artists, known to the public and also active in the city, with a selection of their recent works. The artists cover two distinct generations: maestros of the post-informel movement, and we find Paolo Masi and Riccardo Guarneri, the only artist to have already been a guest at the Gallery at the end of the 1980s; and the generation that arrived on the art scene in the mid 1980s, after the return to painting had been surpassed. Daniela De Lorenzo, Antonio Catelani, Carlo Guaita and Paolo Parisi present works that enable us to read the intensity of their artistic paths and often to see how closed their initial manners of expression had been and how difficult their language to translate.
As all the works on display are contemporary, on one hand this will also enable us to assess the importance of experience and the historicity of making art on the creative fantasy; on the other hand, to measure the differences that belonging to different generations and cultural climates brings about in the use of expressive languages. Painting, sculpture and architectural thought are nevertheless always confirmed as the sources and theoretical roots of the relative constructed images, but the relative “presences” undergo such processes of metaphorisation and at times conceptualisation as to indicate the present time.
Un ritrovarsi amichevole e piacevole - a friendly and pleasant get-together, this is the real reason for this exhibition, as if the artists themselves had decided to each display their respective works at Andrea Alibrandi’s Galleria Il Ponte.
