Voglio esprimere la mia gratitudine a Luciano e Massimo Maggini che, attraverso la loro profonda passione per l’arte contemporanea, hanno reso possibile la mostra Knight of the Night e questo libro. Fondamentale è stato anche il contributo dell’intero staff di Jan Fabre, che si è reso disponibile a curare con grande professionalità questo progetto in tutti i suoi dettagli. Durante il lungo periodo di preparazione e anche adesso, i miei pensieri sono spesso rivolti verso un amico prematuramente scomparso, Mauro Panzera, fine critico d’arte e compagno di lungo corso nel mondo dell’arte contemporanea, che molti anni or sono mi ha per la prima volta avvicinato all’arte di Jan Fabre.
