ARTEFIERA 2022 Ranaldi Biography
Pav. 15 – Booth D 12
13 – 15 may 2022

We look forward to seeing you at ArteFiera with a solo show by Renato Ranaldi, who has been represented by the gallery for many years now. A secured artist, but estranged from the wider public because he is heretical, radical, unconventional, breaking out of the chainmail of a peaceful interpretation of contemporary art.

This concise retrospective takes us from the precarious balance of his early 1970s works to his most recent interventions, first on canvas, then on stones and marble, the colour building up on the edges, leaving the space set aside for the painting unsullied, in an absolutely “ex-centric” reading.

The Indian ink works and drawings that flow from his pen, like the numerous texts, novels and pamphlets he has published, can be consulted at the stand. Along with his catalogues, they give an all-round insight into his unstoppable vision.

He perceives reality in a way that always veers towards the absurd. His implacable irony transforms the theory behind the sense of “balance” and “the edge” – constants in his work – into unexpected visions outside of the preformed logic.
